Hall of Famer Tony Perez, left, on the dais Julio Becquer, Cookie Rojas and Jose Cardenal at the Cuban Cultural Center of New York's congress on Cuban Baseball history this past weekend at the Fordham University School of Law.
Perez and Cardenal never got the chance to play in the Cuban League, but Rojas, who played 16 seasons — mostly with the Phillies and Royals — during the 1960s and ’70s, played with Cienfuegos and Habana during four winters in Cuba.
Becquer, who played for the Senators in the 1950s, played 10 seasons with Marianao.
