Eight cards from the Billiken Cigarettes set of Cuban League stars issued in 1923-24. These cards, which were distributed in packs of Cigarros Billiken and are among the scarcest of all Cuban issues, brought a winning bid of $1,232.18 at Lelands in December 2005. Players include Eufemio Abreau (Habana), Julio Rojo, Esteban “Mayari” Montalvo and Merven “Red” Ryan (Santa Clara); and Jose Maria Fernandez, Isidro Fabre, “Snake” Henry and Eugenio Morin (Almendares).
